To what extent did the business model of network television enable Star Trek: The Original Series to appeal to such a wide range of audiences? In ways did that same model constrain it?
Appeal
The network was able to examine demographics to determine exactly what types of viewers were watching the series.
Constraints
Star trek didn't fail due to unpopularity. Viewers were there, and ratings were decent, just not compared to other hit series.

My name is Gayle and this is my very first blog post. I have never taken any kind of Star Trek course either online or in a classroom. I am looking forward to learning new things and having a creative exchange of ideas.
